And now for the counterpart to the redone Buster Sword, a slightly more practical Masamune from FFVII.

Based on the historical odachi or 'field sword' (approx. 72" total length). As with the Basuta Chokuto, this is shorter overall (down from 120", according to some) making it slightly more practical for actual usage.

Basuta Chokuto:

If the Buster Sword were a little more practical, here's what I think it'd be like.

Following the simple chokuto (straight sword) design but thinned down and conforming to the proportions of a historical zweihander (approx. 60" total length) with a shorter blade and lengthened grip compared to the original, the Basuta Chokuto would be much lighter and more agile but still able to provide a strong chop. In fact the Buster Sword itself is almost impossible to wield, so this could be considered the more practical option immediately.

The issues it would still have to deal with are a lack of crossguard and a lack of taper. The former would make it more dangerous for the user due to a lack of hand protection. The latter would make it still not particularly agile due to the majority of the weight being contained in the blade as well as making it possibly more likely to shatter or snap due to inability to flex (much like a machete).
Testing out the new app. Apparently we get status updates now?

To be honest, I think once I'm used to this system it might be useful for more casual communities. Rather than extended journals and having to jump from page to page, you can keep it all in your timeline a la facebook and twitter. Consolidating information where everyone can see it will be a big help for fast updates.

Anyway, all the best.
It's been two years to the day since I've written a journal entry, in that time I've made over 250 pieces of personal artwork as well as starting and finishing a full time gig as an artist and designer for 18 months.

Recently I returned to freelancing, so if anyone wants some work then I'm your man. My professional portfolio can be found here -

I am also looking for full time employment as a more stable alternative to freelancing, if you want me to be a part of your team then I'm happy for you to get in touch.

All the best.

Can I ask you to create a specific emblem for my clan in a certain game? Good artist is a great value for our clan because we are looking for one.
